30 NOV ADDITION:
(1) I have had several requests to "hold" items. I can't do that at least until this round of bidding is over. I promised fair bids and that will happen.

(2) I gave guidance was that current GHQ prices are around $2 per model. I reserve the right to not accept bids less than that (doesn't mean I wil - it depends on demand and availability)

(3) Information - bids for common, simple items are averaging aroudn $3 per item. Complex items with multiple vehicles are averaging $6-10 per item.

I got more email than I could comfortably handle (this is NOT a business), and I may have been slow getting back to some people as a result. My apologies.

MR

ALL: I got many emails asking if I had this or that ISM item. It would have taken me longer to answer them all than to catalog my entie lot (over 2000 vehicles in about 80 line items).

Here they are. I still have one or two details to clean up (the Brits don't have quantities is the only major one).

If anyone wants the complete list, email me. Your email has to accept Excel attachments - I'm not going to hand-copy this on email after email!

I will email this to those who already asked.

Here's the gig - I got so many inquiries that yes, I will sell, but I'm going to put it up for bids if there are multiple requests for an item.

The QOH column shows how many models I have - but you need to read the AVAIL column. This reflects how many are available for sale after I keep what I want and fulfill orders already received. The AVAIL column here is mostly empty as I'm still calculating it. It will be on the email version.

If you see "Defender" in the notes, as far as I can tell it means there are modifications like camouflage netting on the model. In some places "camo" (meaning camouflage netting) is actually listed.

Note that MANY of the ISM models are readily adaptable to SF miniatures gaming.

Sorry this does not fit well in this format. And sorry this took so long - but I had my law school applications to finish and Thanksgiving to do, not to mention a local game con.

Guess I should have asked, these ARE compatable with the 1/285 scale of my other units, and quality-wise, are these painted, assembled units, and are they along the CinC area of detail? Just wondering, since I recently bought some Scotia models, that I waited a month to receive, and was tremendously disappointed in... they were almost useless to me, badly cast and almost no detail. Also, you wouldn't happen to be selling any 1/2400 ships (WWII and modern) would you?

I can be emailed at Lwizzel@mn.rr.com.

I don't think Randy wants to use bandwidth to sell my items!

Please email me in this format:

ITEM QTY OFFER NOMENCLATURE

Item = item number from my list
QTY = How many you want.
OFFER = price PER VEHICLE you are offering.

NOMENCLATURE - put the name of the item for positive ID.

As a guide - GHQ runs about $2 per vehicle. I"m getting a bit more than that so far, esp for rarer items. I will always negotiate.

ALL:

ISM models were made by using GHQ (and perhaps some CinC) models as mold masters, then adding details. I gather from Randy that ISM did make some of their own molds. At any rate, they are out of business for good because they were threatened with a lawsuit.

I think the detail is close to GHQ/CinC, FAR better than Scotia. Of course, when you make a master from a production copy, you lose some detail.

SORRY FOR THE DELAY AND ORDERS ARE GOING OUT.

My mother-in-law has been very ill, and Thanksgiving was kind of a turning point. We've been busy with family issues. I apologize to all of you who got your bids in. Those bids are being processed today and emails going out to all bidders. I'll email all those who bid late or sent in requests for subsequent orders over the next three days.

Average selling price was about $3 per VEHICLE (note that some stock numbers are multiple vehicles).

I will accept individual orders now via email and deal with each order separately. Hopefully, my ISM stock will be gone shortly - and thank you for your patience.

ALL REPLIES ON AUCTION ARE SENT
I have emailed all auction winners and losers. Thank you again for your patience. When the auction winners confirmt heir buys with cold, hard cash I'll post what's left. Meanwhile I'm taking orders for anything you may be interested in. Again, please use the format

Item # - Item Name - # You want -- Offer PER VEHICLE

Please do NOT send an offer with a TOTAL for ALL the vehicles you want - it's confusing to my little mind. Math and I parted company on bad terms many years ago.

I felt the relatively high cost per unit for Lwizzel's ISM figs is worth it, if only because he's providing units that don't exist elsewhere, and ISM is no longer in business. And I had a little cash left over from shopping :)

Gospodin,

I know we each make our own assessment about what we're willing to pay for miniatures based on quality, scarcity and many other factors. That's what a market economy is all about. But that is the rub this isn't a market economy, this is artificially set. Put the stuff on ebay and we'll see what the market thinks they're worth.
I guess what I should have said is that, for me, there isn't an ISM model out there that I couldn't do better by kitbashing or scratchbuilding and I wouldn't pay that much for what they offer. Not that scratchbuilding or kitbashing is any cheaper but at least I control the quality. For example it probably cost me a little over $3 per miniature to make the four German Skorpion minelayers that I made. But I'll put mine up against any manufacturer out there for quality.

Paul,
What you say is true about the worth of items in the real world vs an artificially inflated market, but for those of us who try to kitbash 1/285 models (man, my eyes get crossed just thinking of it, it's hard enough to put MGs on tanks!), some of these vehicles just don't exist in any market (except maybe Scotia, but I don't count their stuff since it's barely viable), and you can't kitbash an SA-12. I'm willing to pay a little extra for some of this stuff, so that I can make a more interesting battle scenario. I do agree, tho, it's a lot to pay, and I hope it's worth it.

Gospodin,

Good point. But maybe one can kitbash an SA-12... If you have a digital camera would you do me the favor of taking a few pictures of the ISM ones and send them to me. I'm off on a hunt for scale drawings now.

Steve,

A quick internet image search tells me that this will be a daunting, but doable task. If nothing else it will prove to me that for things like the SA-12, $3 ISM miniatures are a bargain! Anyway, its about the "Art of the Possible" afterall.

BTW: Since Iwizzel is already using this thread to make some money, If anyone is interested, I have 30 ISM Leopard 1A4 painted and ready to go for $30. These are one of the obvious cases of ISM using CinC/GHQ models and adding stuff on like camo nets to pass as their own. Good wargaming figs but I'm looking to upgrade to CinC Leopards. GHQ would charge $1.80 a piece, CinC asks $1.25 and for $1 a piece I'll sell you mine.

To AV8rMongo and Chris:
Kitbashing or scratch will definitely get you anything, probably cheaper than buying from retail much less a guy like me who's selling OOP stuff. And the quality will be better too if you're a good model maker. it's a question of what the hobby is to whom. I don't do model making, for instance. I just play lots of wargames, so scratch isn't much of an option for me (forget fading precision of eyesight!).
I priced my stuff based on the offers. I took the high offers. eBay may or may not be a good pricing mechanism - it is if you average prices over a year (I sell a lot on eBay). But taking prices from, say, Nov/Dec for board games will give you an inflated yearlong average-they sell for a lot more then. And selling on Bartertown, here, or any other specialist hobby venue almost always pays off better than eBay: Your market is right there.
I sell, trade, whatever, just to move lead and shift my huge inventory toward what I use. I'm certainly happy to see people email, if they buy or not. If they don't, I've got the email of another gamer who might have what I need tomorrow (already did that with one chap on this go-round! -- more lead, aaargh).
it's a hobby - not a business (at least for me). I'm trying to convert spare lead into other things, and cash is sure one medium to do that.

Send me pics of some of your scratch or bashed stuff. I'd love to see it.

All the earlier sales are complete, and the new ISM list went out to those who requested it. If you did not get one, email me at

Lwizzel@mn.rr.com

and put 'ISM' in the subject line. From now on its just one-on-one offers. I found a few more pieces in my baggage, about 10-15% more line items in this list. the list is also cleaner.
