Carefully.

I use a pair of pliers that have no serrations in the gripping area that are about 3/8 inch wide and gently squeeze across the bends left after pulling them close to straight with my fingers. The pliers don't have to be very fancy just flat. I got mine Harbor Freight for about $2 a couple years ago.

Kinks next to bore evacuators, mantlets and similar bits on the tubes require extra care to keep from breaking.

I just cut 'em off and pretend....

I'm sure that someone will be offended by this and respond with some immature and stupid response. It's happened before.

You can do that, snipping the barrels off and then put them in your pocket, then as you go through life you are ready for a pick-up micro armor game at anytime, anywhere. I always carry 30-40 figures with me. I used to carry M1A2s, but with the barrels cut off, no one could tell if it was an M1, M1+, M1A1, M1A1 HA, M1A2, etc. I then carred recon figs, since smaller, could get 50-60 figs in my pocket which did not protrude too much. The wealth clients usually did not ask for change for the drink machine, since I would not have found any change at the bottom of the pochet with the figurers.

I learned that a few years ago. But do not take them to the airport in your pocket, the X-ray machine works and the security personal get really edgy, if you know what I mean. Court house, police station and milia *

Options for your consideration:
Leave them bent and pretend they are straight.
Can base you figures, which will help protect the barrels.
You can straight them out and pretend they are not there...?
Use counters and pretend you have tank figures...even if they do not exist.
You can have the hull there and pretend the turret is there....
Cast titanium barrels. They will remain straight.
Use tweezers....
Use your fingers.
You can glue the underside of the barrels to add some stiffness.
Can add glue and glue some small pieces of painted paper or panty hose cut for camo to break up the outline of the figure, which will also are some stiffness to the barrel.
You can go get another hobby, I do not advise that one.

As you have bought quality products from Cinc and the visual effect is tantamount to the gaming with these figures from CinC. In my opinion, straighten the barrel any way effective for you and try to maintain the straight barrels. I think you will enjoy the game more with the accurately detailed figures and spectators will enjoy seeing some high quality figures representing the actual vehicle.

Usually I use my fingers to bend them into "general straightness" and then fine tune with a pair of stamp tweezers I have attached self adhesive felt to. Haven't lost a barrel yet.

The easiest way is to grab the turret between the thumb and forefinger of your off hand and the barrel between the thumb and forefinger of your dominant hand and pull straight out using the pads on the dominant hand to unbend the barrel. The amount of pressure takes a little practice but works well with our metal because of its characteristics. Remember we supply small amounts of replacements with orders or for lasger numbers for a modest fee. Randy

I have seen others cut the barrel off and then drill a hole where it went and glue in a stright pin, cut down to the right size after cutting the pin head off and fileing it flat. They looked good and never bend again. You could even glue the flash sup. to the end of pin.

You could cut your barrels off, some do that and do not glue anything else in place. I prefer to have my figures with barrels, I know, call is crazy....just like it that way.

Hey,
Listen to Randy, he "makes" the Figs. He is the best advice you can get on his own products. I listen to him when I have a question. [Enough said.]

I have also used the "pin" technique and it worked well. You can actually embed the pin in the turret by forcing it in deeper than the guide hole. I would love to see hard steel turrets.

What would the advantage of hardened steel turrets be? One cannot easily modify it, I do not think one can embed a pin easily into a steel turret, its more difficult to shave something down or cutting off the barrels with steel turrets. Would rust be an issue? Would the steel weigh more?

Chris, steel weighs much less than lead.

If I lose a barrel I cut it flush and drill out a hole and use brass wire to replace the barrel.
